이억원 금융위원장, "ESG공시 일본보다 적극적인 안으로 확정"

[ESG경제신문=김연지 기자] 정부가 오는 2028년 연결자산 10조원 이상 코스피 상장사부터 지속가능성 공시(ESG 공시)를 의무화한다. 이억원 금융위원장은 8일 국회 의원회관에서 열린 ‘지속가능성 공시 제도화 방안 관련 당정협의’에서 “2028년 연결자산 총액 10조원 이상 코스피 상장사부터 공시를 의무화할 예정”이라고 밝혔다.이 위원장은 “금융위원회는 관계 부처, 이해관계 그룹들과 추가 협의를 통해 기업의 적극적인 공시 이행을 이끌어나가는 방향으로 로드맵 수정안을 도출했다”며 “이는 일본보다 더 적극적인 안”이라고 말했다.금융

美 전력수요 2027년까지 사상 최고…AI 데이터센터가 원인미국 전력 소비가 AI 데이터센터와 전기화 확대로 2026년과 2027년 연이어 사상 최고치를 경신할 전망이다. 미 에너지정보청(EIA)은 전력 수요가 2025년 4195TWh에서 2026년 4269TWh, 2027년 4399TWh로 늘어날 것으로 예상했다.특히 2026년 상업용 전력 수요가 사상 처음으로 주거용 수요를 넘어설 것으로 전망됐다. 재생에너지 발전 비중은 2025년 약 24%에서 2027년 27%로 높아지고, 석탄 비중은 17%에서 15%로 낮아질 것으로 보인다

On 14 July, Helen McEntee, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Minister for Defence of Ireland, representing the President-in-Office of the Council, will present the priorities of the Irish Presidency in the area of International Trade Policy. Denis Redonnet, Chief Trade Enforcement Officer, will exchange with Members on the State of play of EU-China trade and investment relations. He will also present the annual report on export controls of dual-use items. During the next meeting, the Commission will update INTA Members on the entry into force of the new legislation addressing the global overcapacity on the Union steel market.Members will exchange with the Commission on the state of play of EU-US trade relations. The Commission will present its legislative proposal on temporary trade-liberalisation measures applicable to Armenian products.The Commission will also present its evaluation report on the Foreign Subsidies Regulation, which is due to be published on 14 July. Members will exchange on the state of play on the implementation of the Commission's recommendation on reviewing outbound investments in critical technology areas.Authors will present their study on "EU trade in textiles: Import and export flows" The Commission will present its report on the implementation of macro-financial assistance to third countries in 2025. Highlights - Parliament delegation to join 2026 UN High-Level Political Forum - Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety

A delegation of 10 Members of the European Parliament's DEVE and ENVI Committees will travel to New York from 13 to 15 July to participate in the 2026 United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF). During the mission, Members will meet with senior representatives of the UN, international organisations, national parliaments, youth representatives, civil society organisations and other key stakeholders to exchange views on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Focus will be on the SDGs under review this year - clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, industry, infrastructure, sustainable cities, and global partnerships. Members will take part in official proceedings, present Parliament's SDG resolution at side events and in bilateral meetings. The Parliament will also host an event on 'Implementing SDG 6: The role of parliaments in advancing international cooperation on water' List of participants: 1. Highlights - Exchange of views with the Commission on the environmental protection in Albania - Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety

On 14 July 2026, ENVI members will hold an exchange of views on the ongoing accession negotiations of Chapter 27 dedicated to environment and climate change. This exchange of views will take place in the context of possible projects to be carried out of the Vjosa–Narta protected area in Albania.This area is recognised for its ecological importance, supporting more than 70 threatened species and over 200 bird species, including Flamingos and Dalmatian Pelicans, and serving as a key stopover along the Adriatic migratory flyway. The area has been protected under Albanian law since 2004 and has been identified as a candidate for designation as a Natura 2000 site upon Albania's accession to the EU. The EU formally opened accession negotiations with Albania in July 2022. Chapter 27 (Environment and Climate Change) is the chapter of the EU accession negotiations that covers the alignment of candidate countries with the EU environmental and climate acquis. It includes legislation on environmental impact assessment, nature protection, biodiversity, public participation and other environmental standards. Highlights - Exchange of views with the Irish minister for Agriculture, Food, and the Marine - Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety

On 14 July 2026, ENVI Members will hold an exchange of views with the Irish Minister for Agriculture, Food and Marine, Martin Heydon, with Ireland taking over the rotating Presidency of the Council of the EU on July 1st for the next six months. The discussion will focus on the Irish Presidency's priorities for agriculture and food systems, with particular attention to food safety and agri-environmental objectives. The exchange will allow Members to discuss the Irish Presidency's priorities for agriculture, food and fisheries, which include food security, competitiveness, simplification and sustainability. Particular attention will also be given to the future CAP and how it can balance economic, social and environmental sustainability, while supporting climate and environmental objectives. The discussion may further address the simplification agenda, including the Food and Feed Safety Simplification Omnibus package, as well the role of innovation and the bioeconomy in supporting more sustainable agri-food and seafood sectors. Highlights - ENVI vote on the opinion on the European Regional Development Fund - Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety

On 14 July2026, ENVI Members will vote on the draft opinion on the future framework of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The file was attributed to REGI as lead committee, with ENVI and EMPL as opinion-giving committees.The Commission proposal, adopted on 16 July 2025, establishes the ERDF, including European Territorial Cooperation (Interreg), and the Cohesion Fund as part of the future National and Regional Partnership Fund for 2028-2034. The proposal aims to support regional development, reduce territorial disparities and strengthen economic, social and territorial cohesion, while simplifying implementation and improving synergies with other EU instruments. It also sets specific provisions for disadvantaged areas, sustainable urban development, outermost regions and Interregional cooperation. 149 amendments were tabled in ENVI, resulting in 11 compromise amendments.
